NH GIVES

Save the Date for the biggest non profit giving day in NH! Make a donation to the Mont Vernon Library Charitable Foundation during NH GIVES on Tuesday, June 6th- Wednesday, June 7th in support of a new library. Every donation counts! This year, we’ve set the goal at $25,000 to be raised in one day. Find the MVLCF profile page by clicking on the link below. Giving begins starting June 6th at 5pm. Summer Reading Program...Reading is Magic!

It's almost time to sign up for the Summer Reading Program! This year's theme is READING IS MAGIC! Miss JoAnn has planned a magical summer reading program for all ages 0-17 filled with story times, art & crafts, special programs and presenters. Kids can enter to win weekly prizes, track their reading, and win our grand prizes sponsored by the Friends of the Library. REGISTRATION IS FREE & REQUIRED! SPACE IS LIMITED FOR SOME ACTIVITIES!! FREE GIVEAWAY FOR THE FIRST 100 TO SIGN UP. Registration opens on Saturday, June 10th from 8-12pm in person at the library under the tent. Can't make it on Sat., June 10th? Souhegan Reads 2023: Chose Your Own Adventure

Did you know that students grades 9-12 are required to read one book from a pre selected list this summer before heading back to Souhegan High School in the fall? To make this challenge fun, Mont Vernon teens are invited to a Book Tasting Party on Wednesday, June 21st at 6pm to take a taste of all the chosen books along with pizza. We'd like to send the students from Mont Vernon back well read and are aiming for 100% participation. Adult Summer Reading

Summer Reading isn't just for kids.  Pick up your Adult Summer Reading Bookmark and challenge yourself to read all summer! Enter every time you come to the library to win weekly local gift cards sponsored by the Friends of the Daland Memorial Library. The more you visit, the more you read, the better chance you have of winning! Program begins the 1st Day of Summer June 21st - Labor Day Sept. 4th.

Senior Summer Social Hour

Seniors are invited to come together on Mondays this summer at 2:00 pm for a Senior Summer Social Hour.  Each date will have an activity and refreshments will be served. Come to one or all events! Join us for our first event on Monday, June 26th at 2:00pm at the Mont Vernon Town Hall meeting room to learn about the Mont Vernon Town Hall Past, Present, and Future. Fire Department Pig Roast & Bonfire

The Mont Vernon Fire Department Association is having a Pig Roast and Bonfire Fundraiser at McCollum Field on Saturday, June 24th. We invite you all for a day of food, fun, and fire! There will be a roast pig, additional food offerings, and music. Bring yard games and your favorite picnic blanket! The pig will be ready for consumption around noon.

\Attendance is free, there will be 100 tickets available for the pig itself at $25, additional food will be available for purchase, and as always the boot will be out for any donations! Beverages are BYO, please no glass! Pork-plate tickets will be available for purchase at the Transfer Station from 10-2 on June 10th and June 17th. All proceeds go to the MVFDA, any questions please contact mvfdasecretary@gmail.com

Summer Concert Series: Wednesdays from July 12th thru August 9th at 6:30 pm on the Town Green.

Exercise Groups:

Strength & Tone from Home: Tuesdays & Thursdays at 5:45 am via Zoom - 45-minute class of strength and conditioning workout led by personal trainer, Mary Rondeau.

Cardio & Toning in the Gym: Saturdays at 7:30 am in the Mont Vernon Village School gym - 45-minute cardio and toning workout led by fitness instructor, Mary Manseau.

Road closures to be aware of

Brook Road from Gavin Road to #38 Brook Road is closed for bridge repairs, probably through July.

The town of Amherst has closed Amherst Road to replace a culvert/bridge near Wilkins School. A large electronic sign on Route 13, at the crossroads of Amherst Road and Purgatory Road, will give details.
