The Town of Mont Vernon has lowered the flags to half staff in honor of Dorothy "Dot" Smith, who passed away early Saturday morning. Dot was a long time resident of Mont Vernon and was very active in the Town, holding multiple Town positions such as Tax Collector/Town Clerk, Treasurer, and Town Secretary among others. Private services will be held at a later date.
