Road closures to be aware of

Brook Road closed through July

Due to safety concerns from the recent heavy rain, Brook Road from Gavin Road to #38 Brook Road is closed. It will reopen after the bridge is replaced in late July. Mont Vernon DPW will be placing detour signs to help navigate around the closure.

Amherst Road closing for repairs

The town of Amherst will be closing Amherst Road as of mid-May in order to replace a culvert/bridge near Wilkins School. A large electronic sign on Route 13, at the crossroads of Amherst Road and Purgatory Road, will give details. Amherst has indicated that it will be paving the road starting where crosses the town line; Mont Vernon's portion of the road was paved last year.
