Committees

Conservation Committees

The commission will periodically appoint sub-committees for the purposes of execution of specific tasks related to land protection and stewardship. The commission currently had 2 active sub-committees: Open Space and Trails Committees. The status of both committees noted below:

Open Space Committee

The Open Space Committee was formed by a public vote at the 2003 town meeting to study the appropriation of funding and designation of open spaces in order to protect the natural resources of the town of Mont Vernon. Original members include:

Joanne Draghetti, Chairman, MVCC Representative

Andrea Baver

Mary Jean MacGillivary

Jane Flythe

The Open Space Committe completed it's task as requested by the town and is no longer an active committee.

Trails Committee

In 2006 the MVCC appointed a trails committee to focus on establishing and mapping trails on town lands as well as land set aside by developers as public open space. Unfortunately some trail members have relocated and we no longer have a trail committee. More volunteers are needed to help us maintain the trails on conservation land. Please contact us if you are interested in helping.
